HISTORY OF DANSE ÉLAN
Danse Élan is a company that has been dedicated to dance education since 1997. In January 2020, Danse Élan purchased My Inspirations Dance Academy which was owned and operated by Jessy Arroyo in Denver, North Carolina. Miss Jessy is now a dance educator at Danse Élan Dance Academy under the direction of Jamie Roumayah. Danse Élan offers weekly classes and is easily accessible from Denver, Mountain Island, Iron Station, Mt Holly, Lincolnton, Stanley, Huntersville and surrounding areas of North Carolina.
Danse Élan is unique in numerous ways: 1) The training provided consistently focuses on dance education and great technique. 2) There is a strong ballet foundation in our training along with a dress code. 3) Dancers are costumed modestly and choreography is age-appropriate. 4) Non-competitive performance opportunities are available through our youth company - DECYC (Danse Élan's Contemporary Youth Company).
Through Danse Élan's unique, collaborative and personalized teaching methods employed by director Jamie Roumayah, students are able to develop dance skills and learn strategies that help them succeed and unlock their potential, and teachers are able to expand their horizons in teaching skills and increasing their student retention rate.
Danse Élan operates various programs such our weekly dance classes at our local dance academy, Summer Arts Camp, Tip Top Tots preschool/daycare classes, Dance Attack Workshops for dancers, Dance Attack Teacher Training, Business Growth Training for Studio Owners, and In-House Master classes.

“Jamie is the most organized, knowledgeable and amazing dance instructor! My daughter was fortunate enough to sit under her tutelage for many years. During that time, my daughter grew tremendously both as a dancer and a young lady. Jamie was always firm, yet fair, honest and kind. Jamie is greatly missed at my daughter's dance studio and in the community in which she served!”
Debbie Summers - Parent of a Dancer
“My 13 year old dancer received a scholarship to participate in the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive in New York City this past summer. She was among some of the best dancers in the country and she arrived very well prepared. Her technique was excellent and consistent with the other dancers. I give Jamie all the credit for that as she has always held her dancers to the highest standards and they are benefiting from that greatly. She has had an incredible influence over my daughter's training not only as a dancer but in all aspects of her life.”
