Dance Program at Danse Élan

Danse Élan offers age-based pathways designed to support confidence, artistry, and healthy development at every stage. As dancers grow, families can choose the level of weekly involvement that fits their goals, schedule, and readiness — without competition pressure.

Choosing a dance studio can feel overwhelming. We offer a few thoughtful considerations for parents in 4 Surprising Tips to Help Choose a Dance Studio.

Program Pathways

Early Foundations (Ages 2–4)

A joyful introduction to dance that builds coordination, rhythm, listening skills, and classroom confidence in a warm, encouraging environment. Classes focus on movement exploration, musical awareness, and following simple structure — helping young dancers feel comfortable, capable, and excited to learn.

Typical Structure:  1 class per week

Primary Training (Ages 5–7)

Primary Training balances creativity with age-appropriate structure as dancers begin learning foundational technique, musicality, and performance skills. Instruction is consistent and encouraging, supporting strength, coordination, and confidence while maintaining a positive classroom experience.

Typical Structure:
1–2 classes per week, depending on age and experience

Technique & Performance Pathway (Ages 8+)

As dancers grow, families often want different levels of weekly commitment. Within this pathway, dancers participate in one of two options — both technique-based — depending on interest, availability, and readiness.

Core Program

For dancers who want excellent training and a balanced weekly schedule.

Typically includes:

  • 1–2 classes per week

  • Strong emphasis on technique, musicality, and artistry

  • Performances in the Winter Showcase and Annual Dance Recital

  • A pace that supports growth alongside other interests

Ensemble Program

For dancers seeking a deeper level of involvement through additional training and performance opportunities.

Typically includes:

  • Multiple classes per week

  • Participation in charitable and community performances

  • Attendance at dance festivals

  • Performances in the Winter Showcase and Annual Dance Recital

  • Training centered on artistry, intention, and collaboration

Movement between the Core and Ensemble Programs is flexible and guided. A dancer’s placement may evolve over time as interests, schedules, and readiness change.
